Forget traditional venues, long guest lists, and perfectly styled ceremonies—Jessica and Jason’s elopement at Erskine Falls in Lorne was a powerful reminder that love doesn't need an audience to be unforgettable.

Travelling from Wagga Wagga with their two beautiful daughters, Airwyn and Meadow, Jessica and Jason were exploring Australia when they decided to make their commitment official in the most meaningful way: just the four of them, surrounded by nature. They chose Erskine Falls for their ceremony because of their shared love of waterfalls, rainforests, and the peaceful energy of the natural world.

Getting to the bottom of the falls, however, was no easy task. Jessica, in her flowing wedding dress, crossed a river barefoot and climbed over slippery rocks to reach the base. As if that wasn’t enough, just minutes before the ceremony began, the heavens opened and rain poured down. But not for a second did they consider turning back. They embraced the moment completely—mud, mist, rain and all. Their love and joy outshone the storm.

After the ceremony, we travelled to the beach for a quiet picnic and some intimate coastal portraits. With windswept hair, bare feet, and the ocean as their witness, the moments we captured were raw, real, and full of emotion.

As a photographer, this day was one of the most inspiring and heartfelt experiences of my career. There were no distractions—just two people deeply in love, their children, and the wild beauty of Victoria’s coastline.
